Description: RetroShare is a free open source program that allows you to safely, anonymously and completely unnoticed by an external observer to exchange files and various information, both among a narrow group of trusted people (peers) and beyond. The network is completely decentralized, and is built on the basis of the Friend-to-Friend paradigm, i.e. it does not make users dependent on servers owned by corporations like Facebook and Google, but allows them to decide for themselves with whom to interact and what degree of trust to whom to give. Such a network will exist as long as at least two of its nodes are working — you and your friend.
Installation instructions: In order to log in to the network, you will need to install the current version of the RetroShare program. After installation, the program will offer to create a certificate, which you will need to transfer to a friend who already has access to the network. If you don't have such a friend yet, then you can add a special robot to friends that will give you access to public chats, where experienced users of the RetroShare network will help you. All steps for installing and configuring RetroShare are described in detail in instructions “RetroShare: quick entry“.
Although there is no official release of RetroShare version 0.6 yet, it is highly recommended for use because it has a number of new features. Please note that the latest RetroShare 0.6 Beta builds are not published by the developers on the official website, but are distributed directly on the RetroShare network. Version 0.6 is incompatible with previous releases.
