About the program:

All the work of DxO Optics Pro resembles the work of RAW converters. And this is not surprising, because the main application of DxO Optics is the processing of digital negatives. It is interesting to note that the program was originally developed to correct geometric distortions of optics. Then components of correction of other shortcomings of optics were added to the product. Soon there were tools to support the RAW of modern cameras and basic tools for organizing the material. And where RAW cannot do without exposure and color control. As a result, from, in general, a simple utility for correcting various distortions, DxO Optics has grown into a powerful software product that allows you to perform a wide range of image adjustments.
During the first start, you are offered a choice of three options for presenting options. The first of them implies a fully automatic mode, the second - control with the help of a wizard, and the third, expert, reveals all the features of the software product. By default, the third item is selected. It's probably reasonable. It is better to master all the features of the program and then decide whether they are needed in everyday life. If not, then you can switch to simpler modes. But, most likely, such a need will not arise, since the interface of DxO Optics is competently structured, and there is no accumulation of homogeneous options anywhere. The program cannot be called very simple, but the logic and predictability of user interaction significantly simplifies acquaintance and subsequent work with the product.
The developers claim that the seventh version has a seriously redesigned code, thanks to which batch data processing will be carried out 4 times faster. In addition, the program adds support for a number of new cameras, including Sony Alpha SLT-A77, Fujifilm FinePix X100, Nikon Coolpix P7100, Sony NEX-C3 and Sony NEX-5N (a total of about 300 cameras and lenses).
