Electrical control circuits are formed dynamically based on a set of rules and functional requirements for components, connections, nominal parameters and catalog data. The circuit designer provides all the information necessary to make optimal and energy-efficient decisions.
Accurate panel drawings
The function allows you to extract from the schematic diagram a list of components to be placed on the panel drawings.
Automatic generation of reports
The process of generating reports in AutoCAD Electrical CAD is very simple, can be configured and allows receiving multiple reports with one command. Automatic reports cover all types of documents: specifications, wire lists, PLC signal table, connection table, cable list, as well as cross-reference reports.
Notation libraries for electrical circuits
As part of AutoCAD Electrical there is a library that contains more than 2 thousand standard designations for electrical circuits. A simple menu-based procedure for inserting devices (including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic) helps to quickly create projects of electrical control systems. AS, GB, IEC, JIC and JIS standards are supported. AutoCAD Electrical contains a full set of AutoCAD functions, to which specialized electrical capabilities have been added. The functions of cutting wires, copying and removing components or the entire circuit, moving and aligning components speed up the creation of drawings of electrical control systems.
Automatic numbering of wires and setting of positional designations
The numbering of wires and marking of components in the drawings are carried out automatically, so it takes less time to track changes in the project and reduces the number of errors. AutoCAD Electrical numbers all the wires and puts down the positional designations of the components in accordance with the established rules. If there is no free space near the wire or component, AutoCAD Electrical places the designation away from it and automatically conducts a callout.

Accurate panel drawings
The list of components to be placed on the panel drawings is extracted from the schematic diagram. The user selects the location of the shield and specifies the contours for each device to be inserted. This automatically creates a link to the device itself. Any changes in electrical circuits or panel representation cause updating of elements that are not reflected in the diagram– for example, cable trays.
Creating drawings of PLC input/output devices based on tabular data
In AutoCAD Electrical, you can automatically get drawings of PLC input/output devices by simply specifying the assignments of these devices in the project using a tabular editor. Objects and modules of input/output devices in the drawing are automatically supplemented with multi-link diagrams and description fields; in addition, component and terminal designations are attached to each input/output device. PLC programming can be performed based on the exported report.
Transfer of electrical circuits to customers and suppliers
You can easily exchange data with customers and suppliers in the familiar DWG file format. AutoCAD Electrical drawings are viewed and edited using any DWG-compatible program - for example, AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT. When editing projects in third-party organizations, AutoCAD Electrical can create a report on changes made to the drawing by other users.
