Description:
Futuremark released in February 2013 a new version of the 3DMark test, designed to evaluate the performance of computer systems, primarily their graphical component. This package, as you know, has gone beyond the usual ecosystem for the first time and is a universal benchmark with comparable performance evaluation results. A feature of the new version is the absence of a version number in the title. In addition, the developer positions 3DMark as a universal tool for Windows, Windows RT, Android and iOS platforms. So far, only the Windows version is available (including Windows 8), the rest will appear later. 3DMark includes three test packages - Ice Storm, Cloud Gate and Fire Strike, designed to use the DirectX 9, DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 APIs.

Using Fire Strike tests using DirectX 11, it is possible to evaluate the performance of the most productive gaming PCs, including models with a multiprocessor graphics subsystem. The benchmark can be run on video cards with DirectX 9, 10 and 11 support.
The scope of Cloud Gate is home PCs and laptops with Windows. Cloud Gate includes two graphical tests and a physical test. They use DirectX 11 within the framework provided by hardware that supports DirectX 10.
For the first time, Fire Strike and Cloud Gate will only be part of 3DMark for Windows.
The Basic edition is available for free, the Advanced Edition and Professional Edition editions are priced at and 5 respectively.
 What's new in the 2013 version
Now Windows RT, Android and iOS mobile platforms are also supported, but these versions are delayed and will be released sequentially, undergoing certification procedures in the relevant app stores.
Ice Storm includes two graphics tests and a physical test, but this set is designed for smartphones, tablets, ultraportable laptops and entry-level PCs. Windows uses DirectX 11 within the capabilities corresponding to Direct3D 9. Android and iOS use OpenGL ES 2.0. The test results will allow you to compare devices on different platforms.
