F.A.Q:
If there are problems with AV activation after installation, perform the action and repeat the installation:
1. AV needs an active internet connection to update the program and components.
2. The hosts file should not be in the "read-only" status".
3. Disable programs that may interfere with making changes to the hosts file. For example, some protection and security programs, optimization programs, etc.
4. If desired, you can make changes to the hosts file yourself before installation. To do this, run notepad as an administrator and open the hosts file in it. Then add the following lines and save the changes:
127.0.0.1 license.avira.com
127.0.0.1 62.146.210.6
127.0.0.1 62.146.210.10
5. Install AV as administrator.
After the completed actions and re-installation:
1. Wait until the AV is automatically updated, the program will unload itself from the tray and appear there again.
2. Restart the PC (optional, but recommended).
3. As a result, you get an activated PRO version of AV.
4. Launching AV via Avira Launcher will show that you are using the free version, it's a lie. Don't pay attention.
5. You can check which version of the program is installed directly in the AV itself.
If you did everything correctly and you don't have any problems with Windows or the hosts file, then you get the PRO version of the program.
If after performing all the actions you still have the free version of AB, then delete and forget about it.
